Artist Statement
My life as an artist has been an total transformation to a new life. I realized late in life that I absolutely love immersing myself in a canvas of oil and pastel, creating a work of art from my heart.
My art is a reflection of the peace and security found in children and animals. I enjoy painting in a realistic style, with the softness of one color blending effortlessly into another or the texture of fur and hair not only seen but felt. The tender moments of life seen through the innocent eyes of children and animals discovering their world are my inspiration. Each piece describes a story, whether through the portrait of a beloved family pet or recapturing the fleeting moments of childhood and family lost in time.
As I am painting, I get lost in the serenity of creating something beautiful that will last for generations. After many years of raising children and caring for people in my family, I know that I am truly blessed and I thank God. In all that I create, I will honor Him.
